Leadership (Essay 1)
From my perspective, Leadership is someone who acts on responsive decisions to achieve the purposes with stunning confidence. My workspace helped me to develop them. I have worked as a Credit Analyst Officer at Bina Mandiri Sejahtera Cooperative in Bandar Lampung city since 2018. Bina Mandiri Sejahtera Finance is a finance company that is lending capital loans to small-scale businesses. I was responsible for examining the application credit by the requirements to further process which is survey location business and interviewing the applicant. Professionally, I had to directly do creditworthiness analysis at business locations. My Analytical report was a crucial recommendation to decide whether the applicant is eligible to provide a loan or be rejected. I had to analyze several aspects depending on the field of their business. The credit of small-scale business could be challenging and Highly risky, and unpredictable ventures, due to having unstructured management and convey indications of the owner-managers informal interference in operation. Consequently, The customers failed to pay off credit owing to business decline the consumption purposes. Accordingly, detecting adequate qualified prospective customers is challenging.
In 2018, We reach around three billion rupiahs disbursement with an NPL ratio under 1%. By Virtue of that projection, Managerial was confident to expand the area distribution to increase the loan disbursement. It was challenging for me because we had several experiences about the region in Bandar Lampung that finally, we blocked, due to the plenty of cases of failure customers over yonder. We found a lot of bankrupt customers due to limited resources and they could not allocate to alternative supplies. To Measure their supply chain was effective, I have a simple analysis which is Network of order fulfillment. Networks can be created from a reliable partnership, I also considered the quality of suppliers to meet their needs. At this point, I examined how long the cycle time of order fulfillment is. If they take a long time to order supply, it means the sales or return of their capital acquires trouble. Therefore, I made further communication between me and the facilitators to recognize the eligible customers.
The loan distribution right on target would be impacted by most of our customers that they can survive to fluctuate demand. My job led me to be a responsible person to make the right decision. In 2019, I contributed to achieving 8 billion rupiahs disbursement with an NPL ratio kept around 1%. I believe, when someone already makes a decision, there is enough confidence to think out stunningly and be brave to perform everything they think. I proved I already did in this field. Henceforth, I am sure that I am the influential person to ready engage in the Chevening community.
Networking (Essay 2)
In my opinion, Someone with strong
relationships-building skills is a person who can understand the link to reach
the purposes. For me, As a Loan Officer is a challenging job due to must get
clear information of customers to assess their business. It was difficult to
identify the fake information from the applicant who attempted to deceive me.
They manipulated the information about gross profit, capital working and
operation was not in accordance in order to look interesting to meet the
requirement. I had over 200 customer contacts around Bandar Lampung who
linked to each other. It has the power of networking which I can use to obtain
information. Usually, their recommendation has relevant information that I need
to synchronize the real evidence. As a result, I can provide disbursement for
eligible customers from the analyzing report that I made. Therefore, I can
reduce the risk of failure for customers with this connection.
Every
week, I used to report the financial statement to the management of the company on the performance of the loans and also reviewed customers who spread the target areas.
I represented how I can select customers for avoiding the risk of achieving
distribution targets. That was a chance for me to build communication with
them. Consequently, they trusted me to participate in the Annual Membership
Meeting Bina Mandiri Sejahtera Finance as an organizing committee for managing
the event for every year. I was involved in managing this event, starting from
preparation, invitation, and coordination with the team. I was directly
connected to communicate with each member. It gave me a link with 28 membership
shareholders which are the people who have huge experience in the Business field,
Bank and Financial economics. The communication was not over at the Annual
Membership Meeting, Actually, I got linked to them by the several affairs
involving them. Even, collect bills or just ask for signing files. I used to
get a discussion and talk with them. That was incredibly impactful for me to
learn how to solve the financial field problem, I think that is an important
part to build relationships skills. I maintained communication before the
relationship was built. I think I have adequate relationship-building skills to
engage the Chevening community in order to widen the network that I have built.
The Chevening community has greater networking around the world consisting of expert professionals in multi fields. I believe, when I become a Chevener,
I have a chance to build up my networking on the other level. I plan to collaborate
with the Chevening network to solve global issues in SME fields by
combining my experience.
